Australia reached 469 for three at lunch on the second day after Michael Clarke scored his double ton and Ricky Ponting reaching 198 not out against India in the fourth Test at Adelaide Oval.
Clarke and Ponting continued to punish Indian bowlers as they scored runs all over the park at a brisk rate, after resuming their innings at 335 for three on the second day. They have extended their fourth-wicket stand to 385 runs.
Australian skipper Clarke resumed his innings at 140, he hit five more boundaries in the morning session to reach 210 not out.
Ponting, on the other hand, remained unbeaten on 198, which came off 348 balls. The former skipper was awarded a lifeline when he was batting on 188 by India pacer Ishant Sharma, who dropped a return catch during his spell.
