India reached 172 for four at Tea, with Sachin Tendulkar (46) and Yuvraj Singh (14) at the crease on Day One of Kolkata Test.

The post-lunch session has been all about England bowlers as India are struggling at 172 for four at Tea on Day One of Kolkata Test.

Resuming at 90 for two, Monty Panesar got rid of Gautam Gambhir (60) who failed to make it to triple figures yet again. Gambhir tried to cut a delivery that was too close to his body and the resulting edge went straight to Jonathan Trott at first slip who did well to hold on to it.

Virat Kohli joined Sachin Tendulkar in the middle when India were at 117 for three. James nderson, who has a forgettable record and form in India, bowled magnificently to push the Indian batsmen on the back foot and keep them from scoring runs.

Sachin, who has been out-of-sorts lately, has been tentative throughout but resilient nonetheless. Anderson tested the batting maestro’s resolve by mixing things up nicely and even managed to draw Sachin forward and play the ball away from the body but wasn’t lucky enough to dismiss him.

Brief Scores: India 90 for 2 (Gautam Gambhir 60, Sachin Tendulkar 46*; Monty Panesar 1 for 32) vs England
