New Zealand are staring at an innings defeat in the first against India, after they stumbled to 146 for six in their second essay in the opening Test match at Hyderabad.

R Ashwin bagged three wickets and Ojha took one in the second session, as New Zealand now stare at innings defeat in the opening Test.

The Kiwis lost five wickets in the second session, after putting up a gritty performance with the bat in the first, wherein they didn t lose any wicket.

Brendon McCullum was unlucky to be give out leg-before by umpire Steve Davis, who failed to notice that the ball took an inside edge and crashed into his pads, off Umesh Yadav.

McCullum faced 130 balls to score 42, which included three boundaries.

He added 72 runs for the second wicket with Kane Williamson.

New Zealand were soon jolted by Ashwin, who bowled skipper Ross Taylor for nine.

Williamson s resistance was ended by Ojha, but not before the middle-order batsman struck a half-century. He scored 52 off 163 balls, which included four boundaries.

Daniel Flynn failed to convert start into a big score, falling for 11 off 54 balls, to Ojha.
