India reached a score of 168 runs for the loss of four wickets at the close of second session on day two of the second Test at Bengaluru on Saturday.
Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli consolidated Indian innings as hosts reached 168 runs for the loss of four wickets against New Zealand at the close of second session on day two of the second Test, on Saturday.
The duo added 88 runs for the fifth wicket as India reached 168 runs in the second session as Raina reached his seventh international ffity in Test cricket an over before tea.
Earlier, Indian top-order was rocked by Kiwi fast bowlers as Tim Southee grabbed wickets of Gautam Gambhir and in-form Cheteshwar Pujara.
At lunch, India were 63 for two with Sehwag and Tendulkar, on 39 and 4 respectively, holding fort. Both of them arrested the early slide by countering New Zealand pacers who used the overcast conditions to perfection.
Virender Sehwag appeared dangerous but was removed by Doug Bracewell for 43 runs, who later dismissed Sachin Tendulkar for 17 runs.
