  • 7:57 PM IST

The monster, i.e. the pitch, has woken up. That is why Indian pacers have a big chance. They are bowling with a lot of pace and getting extra bounce.

SA, on the other hand, determined to choke. sa 150-5.

OUT! BOWLED! Ishant runs through Faf’s defence, South Africa STILL need 97!

  • 6:35 PM IST

GONE! Amla flicks and finds the fielder at short mid wicket.

Honestly, this wasn’t a wicket-taking delivery. But we aren’t complaining. Ishant bowled really well before, and wasn’t rewarded. Just a ball before, an edge didn’t carry to Pujara. So a good bargain. India finally get an opening. Chokers-mode on, SA?
  • 6:25 PM IST

    Fifty for Amla. Brilliant effort.

  • 6:25 PM IST

The second wicket stand has now added over 110. Trouble times for India. Yes, the pitch has eased out, but India look short of ideas. Who will provide the breakthrough? It is getting very bleak for the Indians. Apart from Ishant-Bumrah’s occasional spealls, they have looked soft.

  • 5:20 PM IST

Danger for India. Kohli looks concerned.

  • 5:20 PM IST

  • 4:10 PM IST

Not looking good for India. At lunch, South Africa have been brilliant on a turf suddenly not doing a lot for the bowlers. Rollers have done their task. Credit goes to Elgar and Amla.

India need regular breakthroughs as the target has been reduced to 172. With players like de Villiers, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis and Vernon Philander, India cannot relax!

  • 2:47 PM IST

The pitch, apart from few deliveries, hasn’t shown any ‘dangerous’ sign as of now.

  • 2:37 PM IST

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of India  in South Africa series. This is Day Four of the third and final Test at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. I am Aditya Sahay and I will be presenting to you all the happenings from the match along with the live scores and updates from the day’s play. India are in a good position as they have set a competitive target.

India managed to score 247 in their second innings setting a target of 241 for the host. The cracks on the pitch were widened by the start of the day which produced uneven bounce and proved to be dangerous for the batsmen. Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli were seen taking many blows while batting. Ajinkya Rahane was looking positive as he scored 48 off 68 balls to help India take lead.

India managed to take the wicket of Aiden Markram early. However, the day was folded early due to the uneven bounce of the surface. Dean Elgar was hit on the helmet by a bouncer bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. The match referee had called both the captains to discuss on the case. Later, ICC confirmed that the play would continue on Day Four.

Will India be able to take nine wickets to register their first victory in South Africa? Or will South Africa counterattack and chase the total down? Can India maintain its record of never losing a Test at the Wanderers?
