It was another Virat Kohli special on Sunday. He scored his sixth double-century, the most by a captain. His 243-run brilliance is also his career-best score. Rohit Sharma, too, had his share of fun with the bat, accumulating 65 off 102. India, however, were forced to declare the innings. There was a lot more than cricket on Day Two. The Delhi smog forced the Sri Lankan players to wear a mask to safeguard themselves from what was termed as ‘bad air quality’. The game was interrupted as many as three times, as the Sri Lankan players refused to continue playing. Frustrated by this, Kohli once threw his bat. He seemed to be hell-bent on batting despite the conditions. Adding more drama to this episode, coach Ravi Shastri walked out in the middle to have a conversation with the umpires. Perhaps he wanted to clear the confusion in the air. Mohammed Shami took a wicket of the very first ball. Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, too, got a wicket each before stumps. Sri Lanka trail by 131 runs.
