Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Nidahas Trophy 2018. This is Suvajit Mustafi and I will bring you the live updates of the first match between India and Sri Lanka at Colombo. Yes, it is India-Sri Lanka again but the teams wear a significant different look. The tri-nation tournament is being played to mark the 70th anniversary of Sri Lankan independence.

Both the sides will be without some of their key players. Sri Lanka will be missing the services of Angelo Mathews and Asela Gunaratne, and this is their best chance to beat the Indian side, who are stepping into the tournament without Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav.

Indian batting still looks strong with Shikhar Dhawan, Manish Pandey and Suresh Raina in form. Rohit Sharma did not get going in South Africa but was in rich form at home against Sri Lanka.

Either of Dinesh Karthik or Rishabh Pant will keep wickets for India. With Niroshan Dickwella dropped from the Sri Lankan side, skipper Dinesh Chandimal is expected to keep wickets for Sri Lanka.

Rain may play a spoilsport with slight chances of thunderstorm. We hope that is not the case.
