India have already won the series 2-0, with a six-wicket win in the first ODI and a five-wicket win in the second game, both at the same venue. India Women will be looking to complete a complete a clean sweep and make it difficult for West Indies Women to get an automatic qualification for the 2017 Women’s World Cup. After the third ODI the two teams will lock horns in a three-match T20 International (T20I) series, which is scheduled to begin from November 18. In the first ODI West Indies managed to crawl their way to 131 in 42.4 overs. Only Merissa Aguilleira scored a face saving 42 not out and only two other players got to double figures. Among the Indian bowlers, it was Rajeshwari Gaayakwad, who picked up four wickets and Ekta Bisht finished with three to her name. An unbeaten 46 from skipper Mithali Raj and 52 not out from Veda Krishnamurthy ensured India won the match by six wickets and 65 balls to spare. Moving on to the second game, India Women once again won the toss and decided to bowl first. Deandra Dottin scored a gritty 63 to ensure West Indies Women finish at 153 for 7 in their 50 overs. Fast bowler Jhulan Goswami and Ekta Bisht were the pick of the bowlers, finishing with identical figures of 2 for 28 in their 10 overs.
West Indies Women did not make life easy for their opponents, but India Women ensured that they won the match by five wickets with 12 overs to spare.
