That’s a wrap! A solid performance by Indian eves. They were impressive with the ball, fielded sharply and batted with purpose courtesy a 106-run stand between Smriti and Mithali. They win by 9 wickets, and five balls to spare.

    2nd T20I report-

  • 7:22 PM IST

12 required off 12 balls. The openers took slightly more time than required maybe. Nonetheless, India should get there.

  • 7:16 PM IST

50 for Mithali Raj! Just another day at work for her. India need 23 off 20.

  • 7:08 PM IST

OUT! South Africa finally get the better of Mandhana. She goes for 57 off 42. India need 37 off 33. Harmanpreet takes the crease.

  • 6:41 PM IST

India racing away towards the target. Smriti is batting on 30, and Mithali has reached 24. No worries for India. This is surely their game by now. They are 58 for 0 (8).

  • 6:26 PM IST

Both Smriti and Mithali are looking comfortable in the middle. In a low-scoring match, the bowling side need wickets at regular intervals. Doesn’t look the case for hosts. INDW 40/0 (5)

  • 6:18 PM IST

Indian eves start well. They are 16 for no loss in 3 overs.

  • 6:05 PM IST

India openers out in the middle…

  • 6:00 PM IST
The innings never got the lift required. Shikha Pandey and Poonam Vastrakar were on par, and complimented by god fielding. In addition, the spin trio — Anuja Patil, Poonam Yadav and Radha Yadav — choked the run flow. Sune Luus and Nadine de Klerk got going but fell before the late onslaught could be provided. Nonetheless, an expensive last over, by Anuja, has propelled the score beyond 140. Still a par score. Will Indian eves get there?

India Women lead the five-match series 1-o and South Africa, after losing the ODI series 1-2, will want to bounce back with the match in hand. India restricted South Africa at a gettable total of 164 for 4 in the first T20I and then chased the target down with 7 balls remaining. Without their ace pacer Jhulan Goswami ruled out, India managed to put up an impressive performance to not let any of the South Africa batters score a half-century.
