Good Afternoon/Evening! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Match 30 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Zouks, at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill in Florida, USA on Thursday/Friday. I am Ayush Gupta, and I will be bringing to you the live updates from this tie. The Tallahwas are currently second on the table, as a win here would take them to the top, having already made it to the play-offs, while the Zouks are the number three, and a win would make them stay there, potentially sealing their play-offs spot.
Earlier on Saturday, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots managed to beat Trinbago Knight Riders by 34 runs in the 26th match of the Caribbean Premier League at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida. The Knight Riders lost their last 7 wickets for just 43 runs while chasing the Patriots’ target of 180-5. Colin Munro while coming in at No.3 did look in splendid touch while hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes in his innings of 46.
Earlier St Kitts and Nevis Patriots while being asked to bat first had a good start. Evin Lewis took them off to a flyer. The first wicket partnership for 65 runs between JJ Smuts and Lewis was critical in laying the foundation for the batsmen to come in. Lewis hit 79 off 40 balls, with 4 fours and 8 sixes in his match-winning knock. Although the middle-order including Faf Du Plessis could not capitalize, the lower middle order did chip in with valuable runs. Shamarh Brooks’ cameo took them to a total of 180-5 in 20 overs.
