After obtaining a 110-run lead, Haryana had finished Day Two on 27 without loss. They reached 103 for 1 before a mini-collapse reduced them to 114 for 4. But Sachin Rana and Rahul Dagar played crucial cameos, and captain Virender Sehwag followed his first-innings hundred with a small blitz (40 in 36 balls, 4 fours, 1 six) before falling to Shreyas Gopal. Jayant Yadav and Harshal joined in the fun as well as Himachal Pradesh pressed for a declaration, and Sehwag let the last pair bat on for some time before finally calling it curtains. Gopal, introduced as the seventh bowler, finished with 4 for 53, while Vinay Kumar and David Mathias claimed 2 apiece.
