It won’t be wrong to say that the ball is in Mumbai’s court as they have first piled some big runs on the board and then picked five wickets to put their opponent in a delicate situation. Shreyas Iyer top scored for them with his tenacious knock of 90 runs in the first innings. Aditya Tare, Siddhesh Lad and Abhishek Nayar too made some useful contributions with the bat as Mumbai posted 371 runs on the board. It was a smart half century in which he tailored his batting approach and played shots as per the match situation. When it was required for him to score fast, he did and when Mumbai lost a wicket he slowed down. He also played his shots as per the merit of every delivery. Surya Kumar Yadav has complemented him pretty well; he needs five more runs to get to his half century. Mumbai is now leading by 337 runs.

Madhya Pradesh got off to a shaky start as they lost early wickets and the pressure was on them to make a comeback. Balwinder Sandhu and Badre Alam got the early breakthroughs for their side and got them to a good start. Sandhu chipped in with another wicket, Nayar and Iqbal Abdulla too contributed with a wicket each.

Harpreet Singh played a good hand and scored 36 runs. Naman Ojha looked confident from the start and remained unbeaten on 79 at stumps. Ojha sailed his side’s ship from choppy waters with his determined knock of 79. Ankit Dane too has remained unbeaten on 27 as the duo will eye to resume from where they left on day two. Their side is placed in a delicate position at the moment as another wicket at this juncture will put them in all sorts of trouble.
