(The Northern Knights will take on Southern Express in the first qualifier, catch all the live updates and live cricket score here)

It’s all over here. Knights beats Southern Express by seven wickets witg three balls to spare. Styris and Harris finished it off in style. Williamson’s innings set up the chase for them.
Brilliant batting from Williamson. he completed his half-century. Maharoof was brought back into the attack. He played himself down unfortunately. Styris have come out to bat. They just need four runs from the last over.
OUT! Kane Williamson b Maharoof 52 (29)
the captain Flynn was dismissed from the first ball of this eighth over. Harris came out to replace his skipper. A good catch from Dickwella behind the stumps. Dilruwan picked up his first wicket. Quite an eventful over.
OUT! Daniel Flynn c Dickwella b Diruwan 14 (11)
The required run rate was just 6.75 run per over. things are looking easy from the Knights. Williamson and Flynn are rather making things look easy. Both these batsmen are running very hard between the wickets so that the scoreboard keeps ticking. Williamson is playing a gem, he’s getting closer to his half-century.
Pathirana was introduced into the attack. Slow left arm orthodox spin is working well fro the Express. The required run rate has come down under eight run an over. Flynn went big over long on. 12 runs came off that over.
Williamson is striking the ball well. An elegant cover drive from the very first ball. Flynn would like to give as much as strike to Williamson. Jayampathi is mixing up well but the runs kept on coming. taking the pace off the ball is working well from the seamers. Knights still need 39 runs in the last 5 overs.
Pace was introduced for the first time by Mubarak. Farveez Maharoof picked up a wicket from his first legal delivery of the over. Devcich tried to hoik onme but ended up skying the ball. Flynn has come out to bat. A good over from Maharoof, only 4 runs came off it.
OUT! Anton Devcich c Perera b Maharoof 14 (8)
Williamson tried to take on the bowling as he realised this was the last over before the powerplay ends. he’s batting well but he’s unable to time the ball. Gunathilaka was introduced in this over. 19 runs came off that over. Williamson is a treat to watch.
Spin from both the ends now. Seekkuge Prasanna bowled his leg spinners. Devcich and Williamson looking to up the tempo now. A huge six over long on. 14 runs came off that over.
It was interesting move from Mubarak. He introduced spin from the very first over. A slow and nervous start from the Knights. Perera bowled a good tidy over. They need boundaries clearly. Devcich sweeps one over the infield.

That’s all for the Express. Tim Southee bowled the last over. What an over it was. Bowled most of them at fuller lengths. Two wickets in that over too. Just six runs from that over.
OUT! Angelo Perera c Devcich b Southee 1 (3) | Seekkuge Prasanna run out Devcich 7 (9)
Boult came back to ball the penultimate over. Gunathilaka did not panic and he was batting well but a good yorker from Boult hit the woodwork. Mubarak was also dismissed by him. Two wickets in an over. Just four runs came from that over from Boult
OUT! Dhanushka Gunathilaka b Boult 39 (26) | Jehan Mubarak c Watling b Boult 1 (2)
Gunathilaka needed to up the tempo and he did. He had to do what Perera was doing at the other end. He’s well set. Anton did not the correct length. And he was thwarted for 18 runs.
This has been superb bowling from Sodhi. He just conceded 10 runs in his 2 overs. things have slowed down for the express after Perera’s dismissal.
These drop catches are going to hurt the Knights. It was frustrating for the bowlers and the fans as well. Finally Boult hangs to the catch in the deep square leg boundary. Kusal Perera is dismissed.Styris picks up his first.
Kusal Perera c Boult b Styris 37 (20)
Flynn gets Sodhi into the attack. Five dot balls. Gunathilaka was dropped thrice in this over. Just one run came from that Sodhi over. Express are going at 8.40 runs per over.
The veteran Scott Styris has been asked to bowl. Perera is having a bit of luck as well. Flynn is trying to take the pace of the ball. The ball is coming on to the ball nicely. Styris bowled well compared to others. Just six runs came from that over.
Perera is going at a strike rate of over 200. He’s looking really dangerous. Couple of good short balls from Kuggleijn. this has been an eventful over. There was an appeal for a run out but the batsman was well and truly home. A nervous start for the young Kluggenijn.
Kusal Perera have launched an attack on the Knight’s bowlers. pressure on the bowler right from the start. Perera will look to stay at the crease right till the end. Gunathilaka will look to give as much strike to Perera. Southee was all over the place. Perera was dropped at mid-on. A chance gone begging!
Express have to go for everything right from the very first ball. We are expecting some lightning from Perera upfront. the first ball edged and hurried to the third man boundary. Nine runs from the first over. Each and every over is important for both the teams.
