Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the ninth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2016 between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars. Lahore Qalandars have some huge names in their side such as Chris Gayle, Abdul Razzaq, Dwayne Bravo, Mustafizur Rahman, Kevon Cooper, Cameron Delport, Azhar Ali, and others. They are captained by Azhar Ali. On the other hand Islamabad United have Pakistan Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq as captain. So far the going has not been very good for Misbah’s team. They have played three games and suffered defeat in two match despite the quality of players they possess. United lost the wickets of Shane Watson and Andre Russell in quick succession, but they were never really in trouble throughout this run chase. Qalandars will look to improve their fielding in their next few matches as their dropped catches turned out to be the difference today. OUT! Both Watson and Sharjeel have brought up their fifties as well. Qalandars have been shabby in the field, having dropped a couple of sitters already in the match.

Qalandars dropped a catch earlier and find themselves in deep trouble at the end of the first powerplay. United are well and truly in command at the moment.

Some sloppy fielding by Qalandars too have added some extra runs to United. Already an eventful start to the run chase.

Kevon Cooper gives a skier catch to Rizwan for a first ball duck. Mohammad Rizwan gets to his fifty in just 27 balls .SIX! Mohammad Rizwan gets it in the slot and cracks easy looking six.  Andre Russell gave as many as 13 runs in the over. Another SIX as Rizwan pulls another short ball above the fence. RUN-OUT and Bravo goes for 26 runs. As Kamran Ghulam hits the stumps from mid-off. Russell got hit for a four in the 3rd ball of his 19th over, as Rizwan mistimes a pull. Mohammad Sami had made a good comeback in the 18th over giving away only 7 runs. Bravo and Rizwan also managed to bring up their 50 run stand of a four, by Rizwan over the point region.

Mohammad Rizwan has used his wrists brilliantly. FOUR! second ball this is turning out to be a big over. SIX! (80 meters) of the first ball as umpires call for a new ball to be taken. Both Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Rizwan have looked in good touch hitting the ball well. Bravo has managed to add another two boundaries to take his tally to 3 fours, while Mohammad Rizwan has managed to hit a huge six of Rumman Raees.

Live Cricket Score, Lahore Qalandars 100/4  in 14  overs | Batting:  Dwayne Bravo 11(5), Mohammad Rizwan 6(7):  Kamran Ghulam has come into the attack has bowled beautifully, getting the ball to grip and turn. Now it up to Dwayne Bravo and Mohammad Rizwan to get Lahore Qalandars to a decent enough total with only Kevon Cooper and Zohaib Khan in the pavillion, who can hit the ball sky high and well. Miss field and Dwayne Bravo picks up his first boundary as the ball managed to get past a diving Sam Billings.Khalid did manage to get the key wicket of Umar Akmal. Akmal was looking in dangerous form after smashing Saeed Ajmal for a six in the over before.

Live Cricket Score, Lahore Qalandars 87/3 in 11.4 overs | Batting:  Dwayne Bravo, Umar Akmal 23(21) :  OUT!! Saeed Ajmal showing his class. Naved Yasin in an attempt to cut the ball gives a simple catch to wicket-keeper Brad Haddin. In the same over Umar Akmal opened his arm high and wide, hitting Ajmal for a massive six on to the roof. This was 101 metre six, longest  of the this edition of PSL so far.

Live Cricket Score, Lahore Qalandars 73/2 in 10 overs | Batting:  Naved Yasin 20(23), Umar Akmal14(15) : Islamabad United has been good with the bat, with Saeed Ajmal and  Rumman Raees keeping the scoring rate down. Umar Akmal will need to repeat his performance from the last match. Naved Yasin will look to geta game on after already played 23 balls. This looks like a lovely batting track, Lahore Qalandars will feel bad they don’t manage to get 150+ by the end of this innings.

Live Cricket Score Lahore Qalandars 46/2 in 5.6 overs | Batting:  Naved Yasin 17(12), Umar Akmal 0(0) :OUT!!After batting well for 27 runs captain Azhar Ali tries to improvise and sweep another boundary, only to be caught plum in front by Mohammad Sami. Ali in previous delivery hit Sami for a four over mid-on off a slower delivery. Umar Akmal is the new man, will look to provide the much needed fire power and support to the batting. This was Sami’s second wicket after Cameron Delport.

Live Cricket Score Lahore Qalandars 36/1 in 5 overs | Batting: Azhar Ali 13(14), Naved Yasin 17(12) :  Captain Azhar Ali has looked in prime form hitting boundaires of Andre Russell and Shane Watson. On the other hand Naved Yasin has looked composed in his innings of 17 hitting a massive six of Russell over long-on. Lahore Qalandar got off to a bad start as Islamabad United picked up the early wicket of Cameron Delport. Mohammad Sami bowling just his second over cleaned up Delport, with the middle flying all over the place.

Islamabad United got off to a bad start with losing their opening bout to Quetta Gladiators by 8 wickets getting out for 128 runs bating first. Second match for them had the a similar result as they managed only 121 runs in their 20 overs chasing 145 runs against Peshawar Zalmi. They finally managed to win the match against Karachi Kings by just 2 runs, restricting them to 130 for nine. Lahore Qalandars, also started the tournament with a loss, getting only 125 runs batting first as Karachi Kings chased them down easily winning by seven wickets. Qalandars also lost out on their second match getting outright defeat by the hands of Peshawar Zalmi by 9 wickets. Qalandars did manage to win their final match against Quetta Gladiators by 63 runs, bowling them out for 131 runs.
