Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day One of the third and final Test between Pakistan and West Indies at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica. I am Pramod Ananth and I will be bringing you the live updates of the day’s play. Currently tied at 1-1, the series is all set to witness a riveting finish. The two teams have everything to play for with the series result on the line in the final game. West Indies will look to win the series and avenge the away loss against Pakistan last year as well as the loss in Twenty20 (T20Is) and One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Pakistan, on the other hand, cannot ask for enough motivation. They have never won a Test series on the Caribbean soil in their nearly six-decade-long history of visiting their shores. They would want to change the history and write a new chapter. Besides, the team will also want to give two of its finest players — Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and batting stalwart Younis Khan — a fitting farewell with a series win. However, the mercurial side will be up against a resurgent West Indies side, which snatched away victory from them on the final day of the second Test.

Pakistan will seek inspiration from the fact that they dominated the second Test for first four days. Had they closed the game on the final day, they would have won the series and the third Test would have been reduced to a dead rubber. But now, both the sides will look to go all out in the final Test in search of the win, which, without doubt, will be sweeter than any other win in the recent times for either of them.
