LIVE: West Indies beat Pakistan by 5 wickets: As expected, Brathwaite is Man of the Match. There were speculations over the Man of the Series award, but Yasir’s 21 scalps seal it for him. Holder did not have a huge grin, but then, he never grins. Misbah looks glum, quite glum…

LIVE: West Indies beat Pakistan by 5 wickets: This is West Indies’ first Test victory over Pakistan away from home after 26 years. What a moment for Holder despite all the criticism. What a moment for young Brathwaite. Pakistan win the series, but West Indies had fought hard in the first two Tests before clinching the third. They have been improving with every Test, and despite all the flak WICB deserve some credit for this.

LIVE: West Indies beat Pakistan by 5 wickets: Aamer continues. This may be the last over, or maybe not. Aamer bounces, that is a rollicking hook, just gets under the ball, there is no square-leg, just a single shot away! Aaaaand, it’s all over, Aamer pitches short outside off, Dowrich slashes, it takes the top edge and flies over the slips!

LIVE: West Indies 146/5, need 7 more: Runs are coming now. Dowrich guides one past gully for a brace, then creams one through cover-point for four! That is fifty for him, what an innings, maan! The target is down to below ten now. And now Wahab bounces and Dowrich fends awkwardly; the ball rolls towards deep fine-leg and they get another run.

LIVE: West Indies 139/5, need 14 more: Brathwaite stands firm, like the Rock of Gibraltar (that is what commentators say when someone does not get out). Dowrich has fished outside the off-stump and missed, but has stayed on. Now — who will take the hat-trick and seal it for Pakistan? 🙂

LIVE: West Indies 124/5; Brathwaite 50, Dowrich 29: Another fifty for Brathwaite! He has been unbeaten in this match. West Indies now need 29 to win, with 5 wickets in hand. All the same, if Pakistan manage to take 2 wickets, tides might turn in anytime.

West Indies were chasing 153 runs in the fourth innings as their bowlers did well and gave them a golden chance. They were lucky enough as couple of catches were dropped of Leon Johnson in the slip cordon. But he couldn’t make the most of his chances as he was sooner dismissed 12, BRathwaite once again proved his mettle with the bat and played a much needed knock of 44 while Darren Bravo floundered for three. Marlon Samuels was also dismissed for 10 by Yasir Shah, Jermaine Blackwood would have contributed some quick runs but Wahab Riaz ended his run with a beauty. Roston Chase also failed to provide any assistance as Wahab got rid of him too. Day 5 will be of utmost importance as both the teams will come out hard to win the game but West Indies certainly find themselves on the brink of a victory and are favourites for the chase.

The match saw some dramatic twists and turn as West Indies played well in the final Test of the series. Pakistan were bowled out for an ordinary score of 281 in the first innings as Devendra Bishoo bowled really well along with Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph. Bishoo had four scalps to his name whereas Gabriel had three wickets to his name. Sami Aslam played well at the top for his 74 before Bishoo removed him with his spin. Younis Khan also played well for his 51, whereas Misbah-ul-Haq scored a tenacious 53 while Sarfraz Ahmed was cleaned up by Gabrield for 51. Pakistan had enough ammunition in their artillery to contain West Indies but they came out hard with the bat as well.
