Good Evening! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage of the sixth match of the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017. The game will see the two strong sides — Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi — locking horns at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai. The tournament got off to a rollicking start on Thursday with defending champions Islamabad United starting with a win against the Peshawar-based franchise.
This is an important game and the winner has a chance to top the table and stay clear of the opponent by 2 points. Currently, both Qalandars and Zalmi have played two games apiece, winning one each. Zalmi are at the No.2 position with a slightly better net run-rate. Qalandar’s net run-rate is 0.163 while Zalmi are decimals ahead with 0.194. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators have won both their games and are at the top spot.
The Lahore side is being led by Brendon McCullum while Zalmi is being captained by the two-time World T20 winning Darren Sammy. Jason Roy and Grant Elliott guided Qalandars to an inspiring win over United. For Zalmi Shahid Afridi will again hold the key with the ball. He was brilliant in the previous game against the star-studded Karachi Kings. The batting department will be guided by England’s Eoin Morgan, who slammed 80 against the Kings two days back.
Meanwhile, the Qalandars have a solid ammunition in their bowling with the likes of Yasir Shah, Sunil Narine and Sohail Tanvir. Elliott’s 4 wickets came as a surprise for them as they went on to beat the strong United.
