Good Evening! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog session of the Match 19 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017, between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Saturday. We at Cricket Country will be bringing to you the live updates from this evening game. It is a clash between the top team and third placed side. The last time these teams came together, there was no result. This time the top spot is up for grabs for Peshawar Zalmi. If Gladiators find a way through, they will retain their name at the top of the table.
The advantage that Peshawar holds is their better run-rate. Peshawar have had a Topsy-turvey journey through the tournament that began with loss and ended with victory. Now when they take the field, Peshawar will hope to grasp the momentum. For them, Kamran Akmal has been the go-to man. However, they would miss the services of their batsman Eoin Morgan who has returned to England to take over the role of captaincy of his national side. The other batsmen would be expected to step-up. Their bowling has also been in sync especially due to good performances by their frontliners. PSL 2017: Points table & team standings
For Gladiators, their strength has lied in batting. Their top-five batsmen have scored at least a fifty in the tournament that includes Kevin Pietersen and Ahmed Shahzad. The other batsmen include likes of Asad Shafiq, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and Rilee Rossouw. As for the bowlers, Mohammad Sami and Rumman Raees have kept their bowling tight against the opponents.
A victory here would take either of these sides a long way in the tournament, which is why this match remains crucial.
