Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Qualifier Two of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015, which is to be contested between Rangpur Riders and Barisal Bulls at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Sunday. This is Amit Banerjee, and I will be updating you with the events of the match as they happen. The stage is set for the two sides, who finished second and third respectively in the round robin stage of the ongoing event, to clash in the penultimate match of the tournament, with the winner qualifying for a date with Comilla Victorians in the grand finale of the third edition of Bangladesh’s showpiece Twenty20 tournament at the Sher-e-Bangla. COMPLETE CRICKET COVERAGE: Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2015
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Barisal Bulls 163/5 in 19.3 Overs; BATTING Rayad Emrit 7(4), Kevon Cooper 10(3): Sabbir ought to have finished the game off ideally finished the game. That wasn’t to happen as Sammy takes a brilliant catch at long-on off Perera’s bowling for Sabbir to depart for 79. The game has been thrown open once again, with two new batsmen at the crease now. Things turn for the worse when Mahmudullah holes out a simple catch to the impressive fielder in the form of Perera to depart for 5. Emrit, the hero from the final group game of the tournament, brings the smiles back on the faces of the Barisal camp with a massive six towards midwicket! With the final set to be an exciting affair, Cooper plays the first ball pitched along leg towards fine-leg for a four! The fielder prevents the match from ending in the second ball, with Cooper collecting a couple, before smashing the third ball towards midwicket to end what has been a cracker of a game! Can’t wait for what promises to be a classic finale between Comilla Victorians and Barisal Bulls! OUT! Sabbir Rahman c Darren Sammy b Thisara Perera 79 (49), Mahmudulla c Thisara Perera b Darren Sammy 5(6)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Barisal Bulls 137/3 in 17 Overs; BATTING Sabbir Rahman 75(45), Mahmudullah 1(2): Sabbir impresses for the second consecutive match, this time completing what he narrowly missed out on in the previous game — complete a half-century. Meanwhile, Nafees could’ve seriously injured someone standing at square-leg after the bat slips out of his gloves and flies in the air during an attempted pull. Rahman means business in the next delivery, smashing a six! The next over witnesses Sunny leak 14 runs that includes a four and a six. Rahman moves to the 70s, while Nafees is getting close to his fifty. Nafees however, falls six short of his fifty in the following over after getting run-out for 44, bringing an end to the solid 124-run third wicket stand between these two. OUT! Shahriar Nafees run out 44(40)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Barisal Bulls 99/2 in 13 Overs; BATTING Shahriar Nafees 35(30), Sabbir Rahman 49(33): Nafees gets a leading edge off the first ball of the seveth over, which is bowled by Darren Sammy, with the wicketkeeper getting the tip of his glove to the ball. The strategic timeout is taken at the end of the seventh over, with Barisal having somewhat recovered from the slew of wickets at the start of the innings. Barisal cross the 50-run mark in the eighth over, with Sabbir hitting a boundary off Nabi in the fourth ball, with the partnership touching the 50-run mark with a single in the fifth ball of the ninth over. The two batsmen are set at the crease at the moment, and it is getting increasingly worrisome for the Riders. The boundaries are getting more frequent with each passing over, with Barisal in a strong position at the moment.
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Barisal Bulls 39/2 in 6 Overs; BATTING Shahriar Nafees 8(8), Sabbir Rahman 20(13): Rangpur Riders skipper Shakib Al Hasan opts to begin with spin, choosing himself for bowling the first over, and conceding just one off it. Rony Talukdar disappoints for a second consecutive time, getting caught at long-on off the bowling of Arafat Sunny, with Thisara Perera taking the catch at long-on. Prasanna looks to get the runs flowing in the next over, and succeeds by coming down the track and smashing the first ball of the third over for a six over long-off. Shakib gives him a fitting reply two balls later by trapping him lbw, with the Bulls in some serious trouble at the moment after getting off to a horrendous start. Shakib however, goes for 16 runs in the fifth over, including three fours. Mohammad Nabi bowls the sixth over, and gets off to a horrendous start by conceding a four and a six off the first two balls. OUT! Rony Talukdar c Thisara Perera b Arafat Sunny 2(6), Seekkuge Prasanna lbw Shakib Al Hasan 7(9)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Rangpur Riders 160/9 in 20 Overs; BATTING: Arafat Sunny 0(0), Abu Jayed 0(0): Sammy hammers Sami for consecutive boundaries, spoiling the Pakistani pacer’s final over. Sami however, deals in singles for the remainder of the over, with Mohammad Nabi retaining strike for the next over. Nabi uses his brute power to smash the first ball of the final over towards extra-cover for a boundary. He is dismissed off the very next ball though, getting caught by Emrit at long-on while attempting to clear the ropes this time. Sammy hammers the third ball over midwicket for a massive, comfortable-looking six, before Cooper collects his second wicket of the over and his fourth of the innings as Sammy holes out a catch near long-on. And the over, which had started on an expensive note, turns into a wicket-fest Mohammad Mithun and Saqlain Sajib are run-out for run-a-ball knocks of 1 each, both of whom tried to return for the second. OUT! Mohammad Nabi c Rayad Emrit b Kevon Cooper 8(6), Darren Sammy c Taijul Islam b Kevon Cooper 23(10), Mohammad Mithun run out 1(1), Saqlain Sajib run out 1(1)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Rangpur Riders 126/4 in 17 Overs; BATTING: Thisara Perera 5(4), Darren Sammy 1(1): Simmons goes after Prasanna in the 15th over, hitting a four and a six to take his side past the 100-run mark. Al-Amin Hossain comes in to bowl his final over, and concedes a four off the first ball. He however manages to make a comeback soon by uprooting and smashing Shakib Al Hasan’s middle stump. Shakib departs after scoring 13 runs off 10 balls, with the umpire calling for the strategic timeout immediately after. Simmons continues his onslaught in the following over by Sami. Simmons moves to 73, before a botched ramp shot results in him getting rattling his middle-stump! Big wicket for the Barisal Bulls. OUT! Lendl Simmons b Mohammad Sami 73(57)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Rangpur Riders 86/2 in 13 Overs; BATTING: Lendl Simmons 50(43), Shakib Al-Hasan 5(5): The Riders are progressing slowly at the moment, with the wicket in the ninth over slowing things down at the moment. Simmons will have to return to his aggressive mode sooner or later for his side to finish on a big total today. Cooper is handed some rough treatment in the 11th over, in which he concedes and no-ball, and a boundary in the free-hit, before getting rid of Sarkar in the final ball of the over thanks to a superb running catch by Sami. Meanwhile, Simmons hits a six off the bowling of Al-Amin over long-off, before getting off to his half-century in 43 balls at the end of the 13th over. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan is scoring at a run-a-ball pace at the other end.
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Rangpur Riders 52/1 in 8.3 Overs; BATTING: Lendl Simmons 30(28), Soumya Sarkar 0(0): Rangpur are getting boundaries every now and then. Simmons begins to fire on all cylinders in the sixth over, which is bowled by Taijul Islam, whose brilliance in the previous game helped seal the game for his side. Simmons hammers Taijul for two fours and a six, with Al-Mamun hitting a boundary in the following over bowled by Seekkuge Prasanna. Rayad Emrit, whose unbeaten 54 helped the Bulls pip Dhaka Gladiators in the final group match, keeps it tight in the eighth over, during which the fifty-opening stand is completed. BOWLED! Prasanna gets the breakthrough after Rasel gets his middle-stump rattled while trying to make room for a cut. And the umpire calls for a timeout! OUT! Rasel Al-Mamun b Seekkuge Prasanna 20(23)
LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Rangpur Riders 28/0 in 5 Overs; BATTING: Lendl Simmons 14(18), Abdullah Al Mamun 12(12): Mohammad Sami bowls the first over of the day, and concedes four runs off the first over. Al-Amin Hossain, who took three wickets in the previous game, comes in to bowl the next as Mahmudullah begins the attack with seamers. Simmons gets the first boundary off the match, flicking the first delivery of the third over by Sami towards fine-leg. The following over witnesses Rasel pull the first ball of the over for a six over midwicket! Kevon Cooper comes in to bowl the next over, and is greeted with a beautiful cover-drive by fellow Trinidadian Simmons.
Toss: Rangpur Riders have elected to bat after winning the toss. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle will not be playing the match as he has left Dhaka for Melbourne for the Big Bash League (BBL).

Prior to that, Rangpur Riders suffered a massive 72-run defeat at the hands of Comilla Victorians, getting bowled out for a lowly 91 while chasing the 164-run target.
