Good Morning, सुप्रभात! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket coverage of Day Three of Round 9 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2016-17. Here you will get all the live updates and scores from all the games in India’s premier domestic competition. As usual, this round will see 26 teams locking horns with each other in a quest to make it to the quarter-finals of the four-day tournament. At the moment, 12 matches are being played as the 13th game between Jharkhand and Odisha at Thumba is scheduled to begin on December 15. Mumbai have already made it to the quarter-final from Group A, whereas Jharkhand have qualified from Group B. The race is still open in Group C with six teams in contention for those two quarter-final berths along with elevation to the top tier. Expect every team to come out hard and give it all as this is also the last round of 83rd edition of Ranji Trophy after which the knock-outs will be underway.

Bengal played exceptionally well in the first innings and posted a massive total of 479 riding on Shreevats Goswami’s magnificent double ton. Madhya Pradesh bowlers had a tough time on the field as they ran out of options while trying to contain Goswami. The encounter between Saurashtra and Delhi saw the latter in a commanding position at stumps on Day Two. Delhi bowled exceptionally well to rip apart Saurashtra for 92 in the first innings after which their batsmen posted 237 and gained a 145-run lead. Saurashtra, in the second innings, were precariously placed for 234 for the loss of five wickets.

Karnataka, on the other hand, continued their dominance against Maharashtra as they had a lead of 150 runs from the first innings. Maharashtra were bowled out for 163 runs in the first innings. The high-voltage clash between Andhra and Hyderabad is brimming with action with the match being evenly poised at stumps on Day Two. Hyderabad were placed at 81 for the loss of 5 wickets and are still trailing by 109 runs in the first innings. Andhra did well and returned from the dead after being bowled out for 190 in the first innings as their bowlers kept chipping wickets at regular intervals. Both, Hyderabad and Andhra are the top two teams in the points table and a win here is what they will be seeking most dearly.
