Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the second day’s play of the Ranji Trophy Final 2017-18 between Delhi and Vidarbha at Holkar Stadium, Indore. In what was a gruelling first day’s play, Vidarbha had Delhi on the back foot for most of the time before the 7-time champion found their way out of deep waters.
Vidarbha elected to field as they wanted to make use of the early conditions. Debutant Aditya Thakare struck in the first over of the match by sending back semi-final centurion Kunal Chandela for 0. Delhi were 99 for 4 in midway of the second session with stars like Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana and Rishabh Pant back in the pavilion.
Dhruv Shorey’s third First-Class hundred and a counterattacking 66 from Himmat Singh guided Delhi to respectability. Rajneesh Gurbani, by now a household name, stuck late in the day with Himmat’s wicket but Shorey is unmoved on 123.
