South Africa take on New Zealand in the first One-Day International of the three-match series at Boland Park.
After humiliating the Kiwis in the two Test matches, South Africa are now aiming to consolidate their position as the No 1 one-day side in the world.
New Zealand can take some hope from the fact that they have a comparatively better ODI side compared to their inexperienced Test team. Players like Kyle Mills, Grant Elliot and Nathan McCullum are back into the New Zealand side.
But with the form the Proteas currently find themselves in, the Kiwis are going to have to
play out of their skins if they are to make anything out of it.
The South Africans have a few changes too with wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock, batsman Colin Ingram, all-rounder Ryan McLaren and pacer Lonwabo Tsotsobe coming in.
In the first match here at Paarl, New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Teams:
South Africa: Hashim Amla, Graeme Smith, Colin Ingram, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers (c), Quinton de Kock(wk), Ryan McLaren, Robin Peterson, Rory Kleinveldt, Dale Steyn, Lonwabo Tsotsobe.
New Zealand: Rob Nicol, Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, BJ Watling(wk), Brendon McCullum(c), James Franklin, Nathan McCullum, Grant Elliott, Jimmy Neesham, Kyle Mills, Mitchell McClenaghan.
