Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Ranji Trophy 2015-16 Group B match between Tamil Nadu and Gujarat at Tirunelveli. The first two days of the match have unfortunately been washed out due to rain. The third day too might prove to be a damp squid. Given the torrential rainfall Tamil Nadu has seen over the last few days, it would be almost like playing underwater. Unfortunately for both teams, the match is almost sure to end in a draw, perhaps without a ball being bowled. This is a shame given that both sides are playing some decent cricket at the moment and would have been looking forward to an eventful encounter. Ranji Trophy 2015-16, complete coverage
Both teams have some exciting talent in the mix. Tamil Nadu are sorely missing their lynchpins Murali Vijay and Ravichandran Ashwin, both of whom are playing for India in the Test series against South Africa, but have done a decent job with the squad at hand. Abhinav Mukund, Dinesh Karthik, Baba Aparajith, and Baba Indrajith have been their main performers with the bat. As for Gujarat, the likes of Priyank Panchal and Manpreet Juneja have been quite impressive as well. Parthiv Patel has not been at his best, but Gujarat have done reasonably well even without their skipper in full flow. RP Singh and Ramesh Powar have provided them with some much-needed experience in the bowling attack, and Akshar Patel’s all-round skills have been excellent.
