Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Day 4 of the Group A match of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16 between Vidarbha and Odisha at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday. Odisha are currently in a spot of bother after being forced to follow on on the third day, getting dismissed for a score of 274 in response to the hosts’ 467. Govinda Podder was the only Odisha batsman to offer any resistance whatsoever, smashing a gritty 148 off 254 balls that included 20 fours and a six, remaining unbeaten till the end of the innings as wickets tumbled around him. Akshay Wakhare was the chief wicket-taker for Vidarbha, taking four wickets for 84 runs while Ravikumar Thakur took three for 34. As many as four Odisha batsmen were dismissed for ducks. Earlier in the match, Aditya Shanware (119) and Umesh Yadav (128 not out) helped guide Vidarbha to a commanding total of 467. Ganesh Satish (53), Jitesh Sharma (49) and Ravi Jangid (40) also contributed to the total with useful knocks of their own. Umesh’s knock came at a stage when Vidarbha had lost a few wickets in quick fashion, as Odisha seemed to have brought themselves back into the game. The right-arm pacer however, struck seven fours and as many sixes during his 119-ball innings, with the hosts adding 174 runs for the last two wickets.
