Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015-16 tournament, between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu at Hyderabad. Both Mumbai and Tamil Nadu got off to a win in their opening campaigns. While Mumbai beat Punjab by five wickets, Tamil Nadu defeated Assam by six wickets with over eight overs ti spare. Jay Bista scored an excellent 92 on his List A debut to help Mumbai chase down Punjab’s score of 92. Mumbai kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but Abhishek Nayyar eventually took Mumbai to a win. For Tamil Nadu, it was who slammed a ton opening the innings.

Vijay Shankar struck 42 in coming in the middle-order to help Tamil Nadu chase Assam’s score of 210 downeasily. Ravichandran Ashwin was back to lead the Tamil Nadu side, after picking up 31 wickets in the Test series against South Africa. Murali Vijay was back for them as well. For Mumbai, Their star players Ajinkya Rahane and Rohot Sharma are most likely to miss this game as well, but will play a part in the future games, perhaps.
Sagar Trivedi, another Mumbai lad, who made his debut was also impressive as he finished with figures of 3 for 21, that helped Mumbai pull the game back to a certain extent. Both teams will look to go all guns blazing to win this match. It will be their first loss of the season, something that both teams would like to avoid in the early stages of the competition. Mumbai were in blazing form even in the Ranji Trophy and have successfully transformed it into the limited-overs as well.
