While Saurashtra are the table toppers with two wins from three games, they are on top just by a superior net run-rate(+0.740) than Himachal Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is on the fourth spot with two wins from three games are behind because of the their negative net run-rate (-0.135) as well. Saurashtra had played their last match Himachal Pradesh, which Himachal had won by 7 wickets. Uttar Pradesh in their last game against Madhya Pradesh lost their tie badly by 8 wickets. Uttar Pradesh have won their Vijay Hazare Trophy tie against Saurashtra by five wickets. Shubham Chaubey was the hero for them with his 85 not out. Eklavya Dwivedi (38) and Akshdeep Nath 28 not out played vital knocks as well. For Saurashtra, Ravindra Jadeja bowled a tight spell and gave just 30 runs from his 10 overs. Earlier, Saurashtra could not get going with the bat and were bundled out for 189. The home team could never recover from the early blows and kept losing wickets at regular intervals thereafter. Their star player Cheteshwar Pujara showed some resistance but was eventually overcome by the UP bowlers. He top-scored with 41. The brief entertainment for the Rajkot crowd was cut short by Yadav — an exciting young chinaman bowler, who is also the first of his kind in India. In, their last match Saurashtra was out done by Himachal Pradesh who produced all-round show to record a comfortable seven-wicket win in their Group D Vijay Hazare 2015-16 tie. Opting to bat after winning the toss, Saurashtra were all out for 195 in 48.4 overs at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground. Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored for Saurashtra with 73 off 113 balls. Opener Sheldon was the next best scorer with 32 off as many balls, but the others struggled to do anything of note.
Opener Ankur Bains top-scored for Himachal with 76 off 109 balls, while Robin Bist made 44 off 64, as they completed the task with 40 balls to spare by reaching 197 for three. Also the last match for UP did not go down well as Madhya Pradesh bundled them out for a modest 211 in 46.2 overs at the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium. MP chased the target in 39.1 overs. Suresh Raina could only score 1 with the bat.
