TN through to final: Tamil Nadu have made it to the final of this edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, with a 6-wicket win in the semi-final against Baroda. They will take on the winner of Bengal vs Jharkhand in the final of the tournament. Karthik played brilliantly for his 77 and skippe Vijay Shankar scored an unbeaten 55 to ensure that TN made it to the final. As far as Baroda are concerned, they did not have enough runs on the board today, but can be proud of the way they have performed in this tournament.

Karthik dismissed: Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik played very well for his 77, but he was bowled by a superb delivery from Sheth, who now has three wickets to his name. Vijay Shankar and Karthik put on 88 for the fourth wicket and have set up the match beautifully for their side. Is that the opening Baroda need? However, Shankar is still at the crease and will look to take his side home from here. TN 206/4 in 45 overs, need 14 from 30 balls.

Karthik, Shankar lead TN’s charge: Dinesh Karthik has continued his terrific form into this game as well. He and skipper Vijay Shankar are surely building a match-winning partnership. The duo have added over 70 for the fourth wicket so far and it seems like there is little Baroda can do to stop Tamil Nadu from getting to their target. As of now, TN are 170/3 in 38 overs, need 50 from 72.

TN steady innings: After losing a couple of wickets in quick succession, Tamil Nadu, through Dinesh Karthik and Baba Aparajith have steadied the ship. Karthik and Aparajith put on 60 for the third wicket, before the latter fell for 28. Karthik has gotten off to a good start and if he bats through, it will be difficult for Baroda to win this. His wicket will be key. TN are now 99/3 in 24 overs, need 121 more to win.

Baroda strike: Baroda have managed to get a couple of quick wickets. Tamil Nadu openers Kaushik Gandhi and Ganga Sridhar Raju have been dismissed for 19 and 15 respectively. Both wickets have been picked up by Atit Sheth. Baba Aparajith and Dinesh Karthik have started well, but Baroda need to continue picking up wickets at regular intervals to stand a chance. TN are 67/2 in 13 overs, need 153 more to win.

Good start: Tamil Nadu have made a good start to their chase. Openers Kaushik Gandhi and Ganga Sridhar Raju have batted with purpose so far. They are looking positive and will look to set it up well for their middle-order. Baroda on the other hand need a few quick wickets to stay in the game. Having set a target of 220, wickets are of the essence for both sides. Tamil Nadu are 30/0 after 5 overs.

  • 12:47 PM IST

Baroda bowled out: Baroda have been cleaned up for 219 in 49.3 overs. Openers Kedar Devdhar and Aditya Waghmode top-scored with 46 and 45 respectively. Despite a good start, Baroda’s middle-order failed to capitalise and as a result, they have managed to put up just a modest total on the board. Sai Kishore was the pick of the bowlers for Tamil Nadu, finishing with figures of 4 for 59 in his 10 overs. Rahil Shah, M Mohammed and Wahsington Sundar picked up two wickets apiece.

  • 12:01 PM IST

Skipper departs: Irfan Pathan was going to be key to ensure Baroda get a good score on the board. But, in an attempt to clear the boundary, he holed out at long on, leaving Baroda in deeper trouble. Pathan was finally dismissed for 27 by Sai Kishore. Pinal Shah and Swapnil Singh at the crease now. With 4 overs to go, they will look to take Baroda at least past 220. As of now, Baroda are 197/6 in 46 overs.

  • 11:27 AM IST

TN on a roll: Baroda made a bright start, but TN have pulled things back. Rahil Shah is the latest wicket-taker for them. He removed Krunal Pandya and Yusuf Pathan off consecutive deliveries. Baroda have now lost half their side. Pinal Shah and skipper Irfan Pathan need to ensure that Baroda bat out the remaining overs and also get a competitive total on the board for them to defend. Baroda 145/5 in 36 overs.

  • 11:03 AM IST

Double blow: Baroda have lost their other openers Waghmode for 45 and that wicket was followed by the wicket of Deepak Hooda for a duck. Washington Sundar with both the wickets, which has surely brought Tamil Nadu right back into this game. Krunal Pandya and Yusuf Pathan at the crease and they will look to build a substantial partnership from here. Baroda desperately need a good partnership at this stage. Baroda 128/3 in 30 overs.

  • 10:44 AM IST

Tamil Nadu strike: TN have finally made a breakthrough. They have managed to get rid of opening batsman Kedar Devdhar for 46 off 63. Krunal Pandya walks in at No. 3 and immediately looks to take on the bowlers. Waghmode has gotten off to a god start and Baroda will hope that he converts this into a big one, unlike Devdhar. For TN, it was left-arm spinner Sai Kishore, who provided them with the breakthrough. Baroda are currently 115/1 after 24 overs.

  • 10:14 AM IST

Baroda frustrate TN: Tamil Nadu have managed to keep the run-rate under check, but Baroda’s openers Waghmode and Devdhar seem in no mood to relinquish their wickets. Different bowling combinations have already been tried by skipper Vijay Shankar, but TN have failed to make a breakthrough. However, Baroda will be happy with the start as it gives a perfect platform for some hard-hitters like Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan and Krunal Pandya to play their natural, attacking game when they come out to bat. Baroda are currently 71/0 in 17 overs. Devdhar 35 (52), Waghmode 27 (50)

  • 9:48 AM IST

Baroda find the fence: After a slow start, Baroda have managed to find the fence at regular intervals. Kedar Devdhar has hit four and Aditya Waghmode has it just two. Devdhar has been the attacking batsman between the two, nearly scoring at run-a-ball. Waghmode on the other hand, is slowly cutting loose. Baroda will be happy with the start, but will look to build on this start in the next 10-15 overs or so. They are currently 44/0 after 10 overs.

  • 9:20 AM IST

Slow start: Baroda are off to a slow start against Tamil Nadu. They have managed to score just 10 runs in the first 4 overs, but importantly have not lost a wicket yet. The Tamil Nadu bowlers have bowled extremely well so far. Aswin Crist and Mohammad have been right on the money in the initial stages of the match. Baroda will have to get a big total on the board against this strong TN side, if they are to go past them.
