Bangladesh and South Africa will lock horn with each for one last time on this tour in the second Test at Dhaka. Rain played spoilsport in the first Test and the ended with no result. However, Bangladesh were very competitive. They even took the first innings lead. So expectations will be high on this team, which is improving at a rapid pace with each passing day. For South Africa it will be a battle of pride. They were heavily criticised after the One-Day International (ODI) defeat against the the spirited Bangladesh. Later in the first Test at Chittagong, the Proteas failed to create any impression. So this will be their last opportunity to salvage some pride. With rain forecast during the second Test as well, one expects more of the same but both teams will want to work on their key areas and try to take the Test series. Bangladesh will want to improve as a team. Their ploy of playing three spinners might not be the best, given that they have Mahmudullah to chip in. They may consider getting in Rubel Hossain for Taijul Islam, who did not do much — but then, axing someone based on a single innings may be a tad too harsh. Soumya Sarkar was a surprise omit from the team and with him in form, Bangladesh may not do bad to include him.
