Bangladesh will look to register a clean sweep against Zimbabwe in the Twenty20 International (T20I) series as well, when the two teams clash in the second and final match of the series. Bangladesh had won the first T20I at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur — the venue for the second match as well — by four wickets to take a 1-0 lead. Before their two-match T20I series, Bangladesh had registered a whitewash against Zimbabwe, beating them in all three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on this tour. The only match that Zimbabwe have won so far on their tour has been against the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI, a tour match played earlier this month. Even though Bangladesh won the first T20I at Dhaka, their captain Mashrafe Mortaza had expressed his dissatisfaction against his batsmen, who did not find scoring easy against the Zimbabwean bowlers. Mortaza said, “I am not really satisfied. We got partnerships but we couldn’t get through. Waller batted really well today and we got his wicket at the right time.” Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2015, 2nd T20I at Dhaka Preview: Dominant hosts look to ravage struggling visitors
“Big innings from a couple of batsmen would have done it. They could have finished the job. We would have won the match more easily if we batted properly,” the Bangladeshi captain added. Bangladesh lost six wickets in their chase of a paltry target of 132 runs, as they won the game with four wickets in hand and 14 balls to spare.
