Hello and welcome to the live updates of ICC Intercontinental Cup. Afghanistan and Hong Kong play the final match of the tournament. We, at CricketCountry, will bring all the live updates of Day 1 as well as interesting posts from the social media space. Hong Kong will face transition from one-day to whites. They won the first game against Nepal while the second was abandoned due to rain. Now, Hong Kong are all set to host Afghanistan for a 4-day match, which will be the last one of the Intercontinental Cup that began in 2015.
Afghanistan are at an advantage: they are placed second in the points table with 81 points, while Hong Kong linger at the bottom. Of the 5 matches played, Afghanistan have won 4 while they drew one against Scotland. Afghanistan will be itching to come good in this match, especially after gaining the Test status. The last match of the Intercontinental Cup played by Afghanistan was against Ireland at Greater Noida. Asghar Stanikzai shone with the bat scoring 245 while the stars Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi shared 11 wickets between them in the match. Prior to that, Afghanistan had thrashed Ireland in ODIs as well as T20Is by 5-2 and 3-0 respectively.
Hong Kong have managed just a win in this tournament. Where Hong Kong aim to end the tournament on a positive note, Afghanistan would hope to finish at the top.
