Good afternoon! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Duleep Trophy 2017. The first match of the tournament, between India Green and India Red will be played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. I am Ayush Gupta and I will bring to you all the live scores and updates of the match. The Green’s captain Parthiv Patel will challenge the strategies of Red’s stand-in captain Dinesh Karthik in absence of Abhinav Mukund who is down with dengue. Both teams consist of talented and experienced domestic players and a close contest can be expected.
To say, Parthiv has more memories of successful captaincy experiences than both Karthik and Mukund, which gives him a nod ahead. His team consists of batsmen like Ankit Bawne, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer, Murali Vijay and Parthiv himself. Among the bowlers, Mohammad Siraj and Siddharth Kaul are both familiar names now, thanks to their success in Indian Premier League (IPL). These names make it a potentially strong side with healthy competition among the teammates.
India Red, too, have a squad full of talent. Priyank Panchal, Ishank Jaggi, Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant and Karthik himself are the stars as far as batting is concerned. Experienced Ashok Dinda leads the bowling along with names like Basil Thampi and Dhawal Kulkarni.
Squads:
India Red: Ankit Bawne, Prashant Chopra, Aniket Choudhary, Mayank Dagar, Shreyas Iyer, Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Nadeem, Karun Nair, Parvez Rasool, Parthiv Patel (c&wk), Nitin Saini, Navdeep Saini, Murali Vijay, Ravikumar Samarth
India Red: Priyank Panchal, Basil Thampi, Sudip Chatterjee, Ashok Dinda, K Gowtham, Baba Indrajith, Ishank Jaggi, Dinesh Karthik, Dhawal Kulkarni, Chama Milind, Abhinav Mukund (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Rahul Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Karn Sharma
