Good afternoon! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Duleep Trophy 2017. It is Day Two of the fist match of the tournament where India Green lock horns with India Red. The match is being played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Despite losing five wickets on Day One, India Red are in a strong position to take the first innings lead in the match with 232 runs on the board. Skipper Dinesh Karthik is unbeaten at 16 and will be eager to play a big knock to make sure his side posts a big total.
India Red openers Sudip Chatterjee and Priyank Panchal provided the team with a strong start, building a partnership that added in excess of fifty runs. Chatterjee scored half-century and departed soon after but Panchal stayed at the crease to score a century that took the team’s score to 200. Rishabh Pant failed to impress with his batting in the innings, getting out for 11. Now, all eyes will be on Karthik.
Aniket Choudhary gave India Green their first breakthrough and bowled beautifully as India Green’s frontline pacer but could not pick up further wickets. Later, Murali Vijay and Karun Nair bagged a couple of wickets each to unsettle the middle order of their opponents.
