Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog of the Nepal’s first ever match at Lord’s against Marylebone Cricket Club  XI. This is a One-Day game between the two teams which showcases the healthy relationship both the boards share with each other.  Nepal, who have a huge cricket following in their country, will get on the Lord’s field for the very first time. Paras Khadka, Nepal’s captain who also played for the MCC in the Emirates Twenty20 (T20I) tournament in Dubai in 2015, is likely to feature for his country in this game. Khadka also met Sachin Tendulkar, prior to this game at Lord’s when Tendulkar became the part of Spartan, a company which has its headquarters in Australia, as an investor and member of the advisory board to provide his unique expertise to enhance the safety of helmets, gloves and leg guards among other sporting gear. The duo held the Nepal jersey for a picture which went viral on social media platforms.

The best part of this much is that the proceeds from the game will be used to aid rebuilding work in Nepal after last year’s earthquake, which left nearly 9,000 people dead and 22,000 injured.

MCC head, John Stevenson, is hopeful that they will get a strong MCC team which will not only compete but play a strong and entertaining brand of cricket in future. Not less than a historic match on the cards for the fans.
