  • 7:00 PM IST

Kulkarni continues: Bowling has been GL’s weaker side and with low total on the board today, there was no pressure on SRH as well. Warner looks to pull one meanwhile, but not much power in the shot and it lands safely in deep mid-wicket. Warner completes 7000 T20 runs. 10 runs for SRH to win the match. Can they finish it off the next over?

  • 6:55 PM IST

SRH 27 runs away from victory: Warner hits Thampi for four off the first ball but the bowler manages not to concede more of them. Warner in a terrific form. 100 up for SRH now, Baroka continues and gets hit for a SIX by Warner. Straight over the bowler’s head, to the sight screen. They have 9 wickets in hand. 11 off the Baroka over.

  • 6:46 PM IST

Warner creates a record of sorts. He has completed his half-century, and has leapfrogged Gautam Gambhir to score most IPL fifties. SRH have brought up their 100, and it should be a breeze for them here on.

  • 6:42 PM IST

Like the way Warner welcomed the newcomer Tejas Baroka, right-arm pacer Basil Thampi too is smashed for two boundaries off the first two balls. Funny scenes! Thampi falls in his follow-through on the final ball and one off his boots come off. Warner, who was at the non-strikers, halted to pick it up and give it to the young bowler before completing the run…

  • 6:33 PM IST

Kaushik continues, SRH are cruising towards a big victory unless Gujarat can spark a collapse of sorts and take a flurry of wickets. Henriques and Warner deal in singles to add another 4 runs to their total. Time for the break.

  • 6:30 PM IST

  • 6:04 PM IST

Praveen Kumar from the other end: FOUR! Straight down the ground. Adjusts inside the crease to pick it up from the line of off-stump. Reduces the pace off the next, just a single. Chance in the deep, falls short. A single off the next, have kept the scoreboard ticking. Warner steers the next to square leg, steals a couple.

  • 5:59 PM IST

Suresh Raina opens bowling! Very surprising to see the captain himself starting things off for GL. GL’s bowling attack disappointed in the previous match. Just singles in the first over so far. SRH don’t need to hurry with the bat, the target being gettable.

  • 5:42 PM IST

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to bowl the final over: Swing and a miss, manages a single still. Thampi needs to keep the strike to him, Praveen will have to take a single. Tries to cut the attempted yorker to cover. Thampi looking to pull the next to square leg, fielder collects it, single. Single folows. Thampi makes room in the next, a swing and a miss, a dot to finish. Only 5 runs off the final over. GL 135/7 after their 20 overs. Pretty easy target for Warner’s army.

  • 5:37 PM IST

Ben Cutting with the ball: Basil Thumpi is a talented batsman but there will be a lot of pressure on him now with top and middle departing without much contribution. SIX! From the middle of the bat over the long on region. Runs very quickly between wickets, steals a couple of runs. Very good running by both Thumpi and Praveen Kumar.

  • 5:30 PM IST

Nehra’s final over: Starts off with a single. OUT! gets the edge off Karthik’s bat. Karthik sits down to hit the bouncer hard but misses. GL under a lot of pressure losing two set batsmen. CHANCE OF A RUNOUT! Direct hit by Rashid Khan, and the batsman is miles away. Rashid contributing in every possible way. Dhawal Kulkarni has to depart.

  • 5:25 PM IST

Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the ball: Bhuvneshwar varying in length, starts off with a fuller delivery but bowls a shorter one right after. Trying the york the ball the next. OUT! the partnership is broken, Smith tries to go big, but is taken in the deep. CHANCE OF RUN OUT, mess up between the partners but the throw was unimpressive.

  • 5:17 PM IST

Ben Cutting continues: FOUR! Cut through third man and that releases pressure building over GL. Smith hits the next to fine leg, but fails to place it properly as the fielder gets it. 8 runs off the over and time for Strategic Timeout.

  • 5:13 PM IST

Bipul Sharma with the final over: Karthik plays to midwicket for a single. Swept hard to backward square leg, but gets only a single. Bipul will look to bring down the scoring rate. Does not concede any boundary, 100 up for GL.

  • 5:09 PM IST

Nehra back into attack: Starts off with a single to mid-wicket. Great piece of fielding by Henriques, picks it up and throws it immediately but misses the stumps closely. SRH will be eager to break this partnership. SIX! Smith goes straight over the bowler’s head.

  • 5:04 PM IST

Henriques with the ball: FOUR! Outside off, good length, Smith smacks it to mid-wicket. FOUR! Plays it to Square leg this time. A couple of singles follow. Smacked down to long-on, single.

  • 5:00 PM IST

Hello, good evening and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates’ post of the sixth match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, between Sunrisers Hyderbad (SRH) and Gujarat Lions (SRH). This IPL 10 match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Thankfully for all fans there will be no opening ceremony for this match (second match at the stadium), that means everyone in the stadium and people watching on TV will feel relieved. Hyderabad would be confident heading into this game, while Lions would be shattered after an embarrassing loss in their last game by 10-wickets. Live Cricket Scorecard, Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Gujarat Lions – Match 6, IPL 2017

Hyderabad would be happier of two sides heading into the tie after routing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening game of IPL 10. Sunrisers’ middle order looked in top notch form with Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh and Ben Cutting scoring quite a handful. Opener Shikhar Dhawan too scored crucial runs at the top. Their bowling, much like last season, looks potent. With Ashish Nehra back in form and Mustafizur Rahman available for selection, opponents would be surely jotting down some serious plans. Rashid Khan in the last match displayed his skills to the tee, making him a worthy contender in the playing XI for long.

Gujarat, meanwhile have some serious pondering to do about their batting and bowling. Bowling, in particular, was such a letdown for them against KKR. Dhawal Kulkarni, Manpreet Gony, Shivil Kaushik and Dwayne Smith were cantered for runs all around the park. Kaushik disappointed the most going for 40 in his 4 overs. Without Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo in the mix, Lions’ bowling seems unheeded. Gujarat’s batting on the other hand showed sparks of brilliance with Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik looking in good form. They would want more from Jason Roy and Aaron Finch with hardly any domestic talent in the middle order to fire for them.
