Sunil Narine produced a superb spell of four overs taking three key wickets for just eight runs to help his team Trinidad & Tobago register their first win in the Champions League T20, by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 12 runs.
Chasing 124 for win, the defending champions could only score from overs.
Apart from Dwayne Bravo, none of the Chennai batsmen failed to get runs as they lost their must-win match. Bravo remained unbeaten on 32 off 22 balls.
Earlier, Trinidad & Tobago set a 124-run target against the Chennai Super Kings on a slow pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday.
Openers William Perkins and Lendl Simmons provided Trinidad & Tobago a cautious start on a slow Chennai track adding 52 runs for the first wicket.
Doug Bollinger bagged three wickets in his four-over spell for 30 runs.
Shadab Jakati also shone with the ball for Chennai scalping the key wickets of Perkins and Darren Bravo, giving away just 18 runs in his spell of four overs.
Perkins faced 28 balls during his knock of 34, which included two boundaries and two sixes. Simmons was bit slow in his innings of 20 off 33 balls, during which he hit only one boundary.
Towards the end, Kevon Cooper slammed three sixes and a boundary in his quickfire innings of 28 not out off 10 balls.
