The opening ceremony of the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to take place at the NSCI at Worli, Mumbai on Friday. The event is scheduled to start at 7.15 pm, with a host of Bollywood celebrities gracing the occasion Jacqueline Fernandez, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo‘s smash-hit rap ‘Champion dance’ will also be performed during the opening ceremony. Ninth season of IPL will being from April 9 going on until May 29. IPL 2016 which kick-starts just after the conclusion of ICC World Twenty20 (T20), which was won by West Indies. There will also be 36 ‘IPL Fan Parks’ with one outside India in the United States. “There will be a Fan Park in the state of New Jersey in the United States. It is the first time that an IPL Fan park will be created outside the country. The 35 in the country is a significant rise from the 16 we had last year,” said Shukla.
