The Pakistan Cup 2016 has started off and it is match 4 where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa meet Punjab at Faisalabad. This is the the second game for both the teams in the contest. The tournament involves five teams led by international players. The teams are Balochistan, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab and Sindh. KP in their last match defeated Islamabad by 2 wickets (D/L method). The team led by Younis Khan scored 212 batting first as the skipper scored 61 off 59 balls with the help of 6 fours and a six. In reply, Misbah-ul-Haq’s 82 in partnership with Iftikhar Ahmed is the only mentionable innings which failed to lead Islamabad to a victorious conclusion.
Punjab on the other hand are coming from a defeat to Balochistan as they lost the very first game of the tournament by 12 runs. Balochistan put up a target of 215 which Shoaib Malik’s Punjab failed to chase. Mohammad Rizwan’s 39 was the highest score by the players while Ehsan Adil remained the most effective bowlers of the side taking a couple of wickets with an economy of 3.96.
