New Delhi: After their opening match upset, Argentina have combined well to win the next two and would like to continue the momentum when they face Australia in a round of 16 encounter of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 on Saturday night.
Argentina were stunned by Saudi Arabia in their campaign opener. But Lionel Messi’s side bounced back with wins overs Mexico and Poland to reach the knockout stages. On the other hand, Australia defied odds to qualify for the knockouts.
The Socceroos lost to defending champions France in the first match before knocking out Tunisia and Denmark to set a pre-quarterfinal date against the 2018 winners. However, Argentina might miss the services of Angel Di Maria against Australia.
The Juvestus star went off with a right quadriceps against Poland in their final group match. There are no such injury concerns for Australia and Graham Arnold’s men would be hoping for their first ever quarterfinal entry in a World Cup on Saturday night.
