Lucknow Super Giants given massive relief as Mayank Yadav began bowling at NCA: Report

Mayank Yadav is reported to have resumed bowling at the National Cricket Academy, and is likely going to join Lucknow Super Giants in a few weeks.

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has been given a massive relief as pacer Mayank Yadav has begun bowling at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Mayank was taken in by LSG for Rs. 11 crore in the mega-auction, and is seen as one of the biggest prospect for India, but his career has seen a lot of injuries. He has been out of action since October 2024 and is going to miss the first phase of IPL 2025.

Mayank stole headlines for his pace. However, he could only play for the franchise in IPL 2024 before he got ruled out because of injuries. The limited games where he played were enough to attract the attention of selectors who called him up for his T20I debut in the home series against Bangladesh.

“Mayank has already started to bowl and looking good to play in the IPL in a few weeks time,” a source told My Khel.

The report also revealed that Mayank was struggling with a toe injury along with back issues. LSG has asked NCA to monitor the rehabilitation of the pacer, but the request got denied as Mayank is
