Former India cricketer Madan Lal believes that Pakistan should accept the hybrid model for Champions Trophy since they will benefit from the proposition.
There is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the 2025 Champions Trophy. This all started after BCCI refused to let the Indian team travel to Pakistan for the ICC tournament. Since then, the PCB has also stayed firm on their stance of hosting every match of the competition in Pakistan only.
After weeks of stalemate, recent reports have suggested a potential breakthrough has been made over the future of the Champions Trophy. According to these reports, the ICC and PCB have reached an agreement to adopt a hybrid model for global tournaments that will be hosted in Pakistan or India until 2027.
With the official announcement yet to be made, Lal believes that it will be better for Pakistan to accept the hybrid model for Champions Trophy.
“BCCI has cleared its stance. Now, Pakistan has to decide whether it should be played in a hybrid model or not. I feel that they should play because cricket should continue. Pakistan will benefit from it because there are a lot of things involved. Pakistan has to take the decision,” Madan Lal told ANI.

The hybrid model will allow teams from both the nations to play their share of matches of ICC tournaments at a neutral venue in another country.
