A three-wicket burst by Srikant Mundhe and a half-century from opener Ajinkya Joshi helped Maharashtra beat Gujarat by four wickets in a West Zone T20 match.
Maharashtra first restricted Gujarat at 144/6 and then achieved the target by with seven balls to spare in the day-night clash at the SCA stadium at Khandheri.
Ajinkya Joshi made 52 of 43 balls with five fours and one six, while Nikhil Paradkar came up with a useful 27 (21b, 4×3).
For Gujarat, Rohit Dahiya got two wickets giving away 3 runs, while Jesal Kariya had took wicket for 14 runs.
Earlier, the Gujarat top-order failed to convert good starts as Rajdeep Parmar and Niraj Patel were dismissed for 25 and 30 respectively by Akshay Darekar, while Mundhe accounted for Asaf Pathan (2), Jesal Karia(2), and Rohit Dahiya (0).
However, Bhavik Thakkar used long handle making an unbeaten 40 (25b, 4×3, 6×1) and took Gujarat to 144.
For Maharashtra, Mundhe was the most successful bowler taking three wickets conceding 33 runs, while Akshay Darekar took two for 28 runs. (PTI)
