Maharashtra were 106 for four in 40 overs in reply to Tamil Nadu’s mammoth 572 for seven declared at close on the second day of their four-day Under-22 league match for the C K Nayudu cricket tournament.
Resuming at the overnight score of 356 for four, Tamil Nadu twins B Aparajith and B Indrajith made merry, adding 210 runs for the fifth wicket in 48.2 overs to take the home team to a strong position.
Aparajith made an elegant 136 (168bg, 14×4, 3×6) while Indrajith slammed 72 (142b, 7×4).
In reply, Maharashtra lost early wickets but fifth-wicket pair of Prayag Bhati (51 batting, 7×4, 2×6) and Vishant More (31 batting) shared 89 runs in 23.1 overs to stabilise the visitors’ innings.
