Mahela Jayawardene takes 200 catches in Test cricket

The catch was taken by Jayawardene at slips to dismiss Faf du Plessis.

Mahela Jayawardene, took his 200th catch in the second Test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa at Colombo. Faf du Plessis was the batsman to fall and the wicket was taken by Rangana Herath and put Sri Lanka in a strong position to win the Test match.

South Africa need to survive another 20 overs in order to save the Test match. If they manage to do so, they’ll go ahead of Australia in Test rankings. However, they’ll need to tackle Herath who has been looking in great form.

South Africa won the first Test match of the series, thanks to some great batting from Dean Elgar and Hashim Amla coupled with scintillating bowling from Dale Steyn.
