New Delhi: Nov 2, 2011

The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Wednesday sacked Ranji coach Manoj Prabhakar ahead of the domestic season.

The former India all-rounder had, earlier, hit out at the association on Sunday, saying that he wasn’t even consulted for the selection of the team for the upcoming domestic season.

Prabhakar had a tiff with skipper Mithun Manhas last season when the coach wanted to induce fresh blood in the form of Kapil Yadav, but Manhas was adamant that Pradeep Sangwan be played else he wouldn’t lead the team.

“I am not holding out much hope for the Delhi team this season. I will also not take any blame as far as the results are concerned as I wasn’t even consulted when the team was selected. My idea to build a new team with fresh faces fell flat,” he said.
