Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary’s injuries continue as he is set to be out of action for four months after picking a knee injury during practice at Kalighat cricket club on Wednesday. In all likelihood, Tiwary will miss India’s tour to Zimbabwe scheduled from July 24.
Tiwary will be consulting knee specialist and orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Andrew Williams in England. Williams has also treated India’s Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara who suffered knee injury recently, reports NDTV.
The West bengal-batsman has injured himself for the fourth time in the last seven months with the previous one being a shoulder injury during the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Earlier in December 2012, he was advised a six-week rest after suffering a back injury during the Ranji trophy.
Even during the Indian Premier League (IPL), Tiwary bruised his right hand while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Tiwary’s frequent injuries have further distanced his opportunities of making a comeback into the national side after being ignored on various occasions.
