Bengal Ranji Team skipper Manjoj Tiwary has joined a new team, but it is not in the Indian Premier League (IPL)  2016, but he will play for Abahani Limited in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). He was unsold in the IPL 2016 auction and no team has acquired him after the auction as well. He will not be the only Indian in the team. He will have Manvinder Bisla for company in the same team. Tiwary played in all season in the IPL, turning out for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Daredevils (DD). Abahani Limited is captained by Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal. The team also consists of the likes of Taskin Ahmed and Litton Das. Abahani Limited have won just three out of the six matches and are languishing in the bottom half of the table, currently placed at 7th. Tiwary is expected to get the final three games of the tournament beginning with the game against Kalabagan CA, according to sportskeeda.com.

Tiwary has represented Indian in 12 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20 Internationals (T20I). His last appearance for India was India’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2015, under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane . Tiwary’s good run for Bengal in the 2006-07 season saw him get an India call-up. But he injured himself during practice ahead of his international debut.
