Marcus Stoinis ruled out for Pakistan game; Mitchell Marsh to join Aus squad as cover

Australia allrounder Marcus Stoinis is suffering from a side strain and will be unavailable for team’s next game against Pakistan on Wednesday and Mitchell Marsh will be joining the squad soon as cover for the Stoinis.

However, whether Stoinis will be replaced in the 15-member Australia’s World Cup squad by Marsh is yet to be determined.

Stoinis, an integral part of Australia’s ODI set up in recent times, played in all three of his team’s World Cup matches so far picking up two wickets each against Afghanistan and India, including a one-handed return catch to remove MS Dhoni. With the bat, he scored 19 runs against West Indies, before falling for duck against India.

Australia will take on Pakistan at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton, with 90 per cent chance of rain on Wednesday.
