Chasing a mammoth target of 468, set by Pakistan, England‘s former opener, Marcus Trescothick smashed his 61st First-Class century to lift the spirits of his side, Somerset, after they were smashed in all corners of the park by Pakistan in their second innings and gave a fitting reply to the visiting team’s bowlers after his side’s failure in the first innings. Trescothick looked in complete control of his innings and knew what he was doing in the time he was there at the crease for Somerset. After Adam Hose got out early, he stitched a vital partnership with his partner, Tim Rouse, as the pair added 98 runs for the second wicket and pushed Somerset to a comfortable position.  ALSO READ: Aamer could threaten ENG’s top order, says Trescothick

This has been a good practice match for the visitors in particular as they have not only set a mammoth target for Somerset but also have had the grip in the match for most parts. Declaring their first innings at 359 for 8, Pakistan bowlers, especially Mohammad Aamer, shined for their side as they wrecked havoc of the Somerset batting line-up and gave a thundering 231 runs lead to their side. Piling on 236  runs in the second innings, with a well compiled century by Azhar Ali, Pakistan gave a stiff target to Somerset.
