England team has suffered a massive hit to keep their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign alive. Right-arm bowling allrounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out from the rest of the tournament due to an injury in his toe, with spinner Rehan Ahmed being named as his replacement.
“Durham and England bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse has been ruled out for the remainder of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy due to a left toe injury,” said a statement from the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) while confirming Carse being taken out of the tournament.
Brydon Carse faced this injury during England’s champions Trophy Group B opening clash against arch-rival Australia in Lahore. Carse missed the training session on Monday.
Carse was considered to be fit for playing England’s opening clash against Australia, but he faced struggles in finding his momentum. With an economy of 9.85, Carse was the most expensive bowler for the team as Australia chased a record breaking target of 352 runs.
As per ESPNcricinfo, Carse first faced the toe issue with a blister during England’s white-ball tour of India before the Champions Trophy 2025. Stitched had to be made done for the blister, and he missed England’s final two ODI matches against India.
