Matt Henry made his Test debut for New Zealand against England at Lord’s on May 21, 2015. He was introduced first-change by Brendon McCullum, after Trent Boult and Tim Southee opened bowling. Almost immediately he bowled a short one that hurried on to Alastair Cook; the English captain, in an effort to pull, top-edged the ball and was caught by BJ Watling. He clean bowled Ian Bell with a peach of a delivery; he also had the dangerous Joe Root edging one to the standby wicketkeeper Tom Latham for 92; and he had James Anderson caught and bowled to clean up the innings, thereby finishing with figures of 24.5-3-93-4. These are the best figures by a New Zealand bowler on debut at Lord’s.
